Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most about buying in Asia, moving the cargo and clearing customs, answered short.

Buying in China and Asia

What does BiiSmart Group do?

BiiSmart Group connects Asia with Latin America by running the whole supply chain for you: sourcing in Asia, international logistics and customs clearance. We have 17 years in the business, our own offices in Shenzhen, and we operate regularly in more than 15 countries.

Why does it matter that BiiSmart has its own office in Shenzhen?

Because it gives you direct control over suppliers, production and costs, with no middlemen. Our local team in China visits factories, follows production, inspects goods before shipping and consolidates your cargo in our warehouses there.

How do you find and vet a manufacturer in China?

We search for suppliers that match your specific requirements and keep only certified factories with a proven track record. You deal directly with the factory, with no intermediaries, and we can also renegotiate prices and terms with the suppliers you already have. More in Purchasing consultancy in Asia.

Do you run quality control before shipment?

Yes. Our team in China follows production, issues quality reports and runs pre-shipment and general inspections to check that the goods meet your specifications and international standards. That also speeds up customs clearance at destination.

How are payments to Chinese manufacturers protected?

We act as the intermediary for payments to the factory so they are made safely, and we offer legal protection in China to back deliveries, payments and quality standards.

Can I combine purchases from several suppliers into one shipment?

Yes, with Buyer's Consolidation. We gather the goods from several suppliers at our warehouses in China and ship them together, which cuts logistics costs and avoids fragmented shipments, with real-time tracking.

Do you develop custom products?

Yes. We design and adapt products to your technical requirements together with the factory, and we follow production through to shipping.

Do you offer financing for purchases in Asia?

Yes, we have a financing scheme that lets you keep your stock without draining your cash. The terms depend on each operation and we review them case by case.

How much does manufacturer sourcing or an inspection cost?

It depends on the scope: finding suppliers, a factory visit, a pre-shipment inspection. We put the proposal together based on what you need.

Logistics and customs

Which transport modes do you handle?

Air, sea and land freight, combined as each operation needs. Air for urgent cargo, sea for large volumes, and land for regional distribution in Mexico, with FCL, LCL and consolidated options depending on your volume.

Do you handle customs clearance in Mexico?

Yes. Our foreign trade specialists take care of tariff classification, legal documentation and compliance, and the timely payment of duties and taxes, plus export and import permits.

Who handles the customs paperwork for my import?

We handle the customs clearance of your goods in Mexico.

What is OptiChina?

OptiChina is our logistics solution for the Mexico China corridor. It combines multimodal transport, more than 500,000 square feet of logistics space with distribution centers near key ports and bonded warehouses, customs management and real-time tracking. More in OptiChina.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes. We track your goods in real time, send proactive updates, and you have a dedicated team with 24/7 support.

Do you deliver to the final destination?

Yes. We coordinate B2B and B2C deliveries within the receiving windows, with our own or contracted fleet as needed, up to the last mile.

How much does it cost to import a container from China to Mexico?

Freight rates change every week depending on the route, the season and the container type. We quote you the rate in force that day: send us your origin and destination.

How long does air freight from China to Mexico take?

Air freight is the option for urgent and high-value cargo: it is measured in days, not weeks. The exact time depends on the airport of origin and on customs clearance.

How long does sea freight from China to Mexico take?

Sea transit from China to Mexico takes roughly 28 to 35 days. It is an indicative range: it varies with the port of origin, the shipping line, the season and clearance at destination. We confirm the exact time in your quote.

Is there a minimum volume to import?

You do not need to fill a container: with consolidated cargo (LCL) you can import small volumes and pay only for the space you use.

Should I insure my cargo?

We always recommend insuring the cargo. The policy is tailored to the goods, their value and the route, and we include it in your quote.
